See the dashboard with your own numbers

A working copy of the app, with five of its screens. The balances and the exchange rate below are live, and every figure on the screen follows them.

A working example of the Spend X Save dashboard, with tabs for the overview, entries, accounts, investments and goals. It shows a total balance as two separate currency lines, this month’s spending, the last complete month’s saving, six months of spending against income, and the share of the balance held in each account.

Try it — press any tab, or change a balance below and watch every figure follow.

Moving the rate shows how much of the figure is a currency decision. The app reads the day’s rate itself rather than asking you for it.

An example dashboard with sample figures — never anyone’s real account. The balances below are yours to move, and the figures follow.

A demo, not your accounts. The sample balances are yours to move and are never saved or sent anywhere.

In short

Spend X Save is a personal finance app for Malaysia–Singapore households. It tracks SGD, MYR and nine other currencies in one net worth, keeps savings and investments together, and treats a remittance between your own accounts as a transfer rather than spending. Free covers three accounts; multi-currency is on every plan.

Why Spend X Save

Built for finances that cross borders.

Whether you earn in Singapore, support family in Malaysia, or hold assets in both countries, the whole picture sits in one place.

Compare with YNAB →
  • 11 currencies, one dashboard

Balances stay in the currency they are held in, and one switch converts totals into SGD, MYR or USD at the day’s rate — with the rate date shown.

  • Transfers are not expenses

Link the outgoing and incoming halves of a remittance and both leave spending and income. You moved money; you did not spend it.

  • Savings and investments together

Log a market value on any investment or retirement account and see what you put in, what it gained and the annualised return — measured against the deposits the ledger recorded.

  • A net worth that includes the mortgage

A loan comes off the total instead of sitting beside it as an asset, and CPF or EPF log values over time, each contribution tagged yours or your employer’s.

  • Your data stays yours

No aggregator and no bank credentials. Enter entries by hand or import a statement, and export the whole ledger as CSV or JSON on either plan — deleting the account is self-service too.

  • Less typing, same control

A category you gave a note before is suggested as you type, keyword rules cover the rest, and recurring payments are spotted in the gaps between your own entries.

Watch a note become a category

The app suggests a category from the note you wrote, using keyword rules. A category you have chosen for the same note before always beats them. Type one below, or pick an example.

Try one:

This demo runs the app’s own keyword rules on whatever you type, and keeps nothing. It has no history to draw on, so it cannot show the suggestion the app would prefer: the category you gave this note last time.

Privacy & security

Your ledger stays yours

Only your account can see it, and a few mechanisms make sure of that. Here they are — plus the one thing we are not claiming.

The database is the bouncer
Every table carries row-level security, so a request arriving with your session can only touch rows that are yours. That rule runs in the database before it answers — not as a check the app remembers to do afterwards. Your plan row is readable by you and writable only by us, so nobody can hand themselves Pro by editing a request.
Scripts can’t read your sign-in cookie
It is HttpOnly and Secure, so page JavaScript — including anything injected into the page — cannot see it. Sign-in, sign-up and sign-out all run on the server for exactly that reason.
Your statement doesn’t stick around
A PDF, CSV or pasted statement becomes entries and nothing else: the file is discarded when the request finishes, and a PDF password is never stored or logged. There is no aggregator in the product at all.
Take it all, and leave, on any plan
Export the whole ledger as CSV or JSON whenever you like — deliberately not a paid feature — and delete your account yourself, without emailing us.

What we’re not claiming

Not end-to-end encryption. Your data is held on your behalf in a managed database, and support or a refund is handled with an operator key that can technically read it. Saying so is part of the rest being true. Read the Privacy Policy

Questions people actually ask

Can I track SGD and MYR in the same app?

That is the whole point. Hold accounts in any of 11 currencies (MYR, SGD, USD, CNY, HKD, TWD, THB, IDR, VND, PHP, JPY) and totals stay separate instead of being added together. Want one number? Convert the dashboard into SGD, MYR or USD at the day’s rate, with the rate date shown.

Does sending money to Malaysia count as spending?

Only until you link the two sides. Link the outgoing and incoming entries and both drop out of your spending and income totals, balances intact — and the rate you actually got stays on the pair.

Do I need to connect my bank?

No. Type entries in by hand, or import a statement by pasting text or uploading a CSV or PDF. Nothing connects to your bank unless you hand it a file, and import works on every plan, Free included.

What’s free, and what do I pay for?

Free: three accounts, the last six months, and every multi-currency feature, transfer linking and statement import. Pro is RM19 or S$6.90 a month, or RM179 or S$69 a year, and adds unlimited accounts, your full history, savings goals and the choice of whether a loan counts in your net worth.

Can I track investments, CPF, EPF and a mortgage?

Yes. Investment and retirement accounts hold dated market values, so you can see what you put in, what it gained and the annualised return against the deposits the ledger recorded. A loan account holds what you still owe and comes off your net worth — with a Pro option to leave a particular loan out of the total. A mortgage, CPF and EPF can all sit in the same net worth as your savings.

Is my data sold or shared?

No. No ads, no third-party trackers, nothing sold — export everything as CSV or JSON whenever you like, or delete your account yourself. We count a few product events and page views in our own database: no cookies, no stored IP, never an amount, note or account name.

Can I export my data or delete my account?

Yes. Export the whole ledger as CSV or JSON whenever you like — on every plan, Free included — and delete your account yourself in Settings, without emailing us.
